Race SLO is proud to partner with The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County to produce the SLO Ultra. The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County is a local non-profit organization that has served our county for 30 years with dedicated people working together as staff and volunteers to set aside local lands for wildlife, recreation farming, and ranching. Proceeds of the SLO Ultra and the Trails in Motion Film Festival benefit the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County, a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation with the specific purpose of permanently protecting and enhancing lands having important scenic, agricultural, habitat and cultural values for the benefit of people and wildlife through voluntary and collaborative measures.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Unit is made up of trained volunteers. Unit members provide the manpower, knowledge, and skills to conduct searches for missing people. "Search & Rescue" means the acts of searching for, rescuing, or recovering by means of ground, marine, or air activity any person who becomes lost, injured, or is killed while outdoors, or as a result of a natural or man-made disaster, including instances involving searches for downed or missing aircraft. The Search and Rescue Unit of the Sheriff's Office is the largest specialized unit in the Office and is a 100 percent volunteer effort.
