About the SLO Ultra Trail Races @ Wild Cherry Canyon on September 9, 2017

Ultra-2016-Medal-01
The breathtaking Wild Cherry Canyon, Land Conservancy and PG&E properties that make up our exclusive course are all PRIVATE. There is absolutely NO ACCESS for the public year round and we support our generous hosts by having zero tolerance. All trespassers will be prosecuted. Please DO NOT attempt to train on the course at any time. Anyone caught trespassing will also be banned for this as well as all future Race Slo produced events.

All four race distances are made up of pristine coastal rolling hills...OK they are really mountains. The courses are primarily smooth fire roads with some sweet single track connectors. They all include various loops that explore both tree covered canyons and epic view climbs. Wildlife is plentiful and we will share the course with both working cattle and our horse ranch four legged hosts. Come Fall this course will be sunny 75 degrees, sweat worthy, dirty and priceless.

In partnership with The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo, we are also hosting a live Blue Grass Festival race day featuring the world class Mother Corn Shuckers. This event is FREE to the public! Learn more on our Festival page.

50 MILE ULTRA

Our 50 Mile Ultra is not for the faint of heart or quads. It is LEGIT. You will enjoy the half and full marathon course but then head deep north into the uncharted rugged ranges of the private Land Conservancy and PG&E properties. The hilly miles consist mainly of 3 large unique clover loops as well as 3 out and back sections. This 50 Mile race is NOT for beginners or walkers and without a doubt requires a combination of running and hiking in order to finish in the 15 hour cut off time allowed. However, it CAN be your first ULTRA with some quality training and our generous support. We will do our very best to ensure all of our athletes are safe and can finish the race. Do NOT be intimidated - but do get yourself trained. The course will be well marked and horseback sweep & medical will be provided. There will be 10 aid stations on the course. Two 20 oz hand held bottles or a 40 oz hydration pack will be required by all athletes at race start.
